July News:  Boy is it hot here!  We had a string of days that the temperature got to 100 and above!  Of course, it was while we were moving my mother that it got the hottest.  She is moved and still settling in.  Before long, we will be getting her involved in local events and activities.

Mom brought her cat with her, so it has been fun watching our cat and dog try to entice the new cat to come out and play.  She is having none of it!

The most important date in July is Independence Day.  It has been so hot and dry around here, that many fireworks celebrations have either been toned down or cancelled due to fire danger.  I am hoping that the individuals out here will not have their own shows and set off tons of fireworks.

I was able to harvest some green beans and peas from our garden, but have not cooked them yet - there are not very many.  If all the green tomatoes ripen, however, we will be eating, preserving, and cooking tomatoes for the rest of the summer.  The cantaloupe is blooming like crazy, but I have not seen any fruit yet.  If the plants produce as much fruit as there have been blooms, we are in trouble!

During the heat of the summer, it is almost too hot to do much; so grab a small cross stitch project and your favorite book and find a cool spot to indulge yourself.

Grandbaby-to-be Hayden is still growing like a weed and perfecting his acrobatic skills!  I am over halfway done with the Endangered Younguns that I have been stitching.  Most of them are pretty quick stitches, but there are a few that took just a tad longer than expected.  They are all adorable though -- I can hardly wait to see how they will look as finished pieces.

May 2009 be a good year for us all, despite the economy.   May we all have lots of time to stitch on your favorite projects this year!   

I know that the economy has hit a bump in the road and is affecting all of us in some way.  Prices are up on just about everything.  It is at times like these that we tend to cut back on the extras, and cross stitch can certainly be considered an extra.  Please know that I am very appreciative of every order that I receive and I know that I am blessed to have such wonderful customers.

I am very happy to announce that International orders can now be filled via the Shopping Cart!!!!  That means that if you live outside the United States, you do not have to contact me via email in order to place an order!  I am hoping that this new flexibility will help our overseas friends have some great S.E.X. (Stash Enhancement eXperience)!
