February News: Thank goodness January is over! On the 20th we had a bit of excitement when a tornado touched down less than a mile from our home! I have never been through a tornado and that one was too close for comfort. Thankfully, we had no damage at all, but about 10 families either had major damage to their homes or their homes were completely destroyed. One lady was injured, but no one was killed. Hundreds of large trees were toppled like pick-up sticks -- it was an amazing thing to see.
February 2 is Groundhog Day and I can tell you, I am ready for winter to end, so am hoping the groundhog does NOT see his shadow! Other important dates this month are, of course, Valentine's Day, Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays, President's Day, Mardi Gras, and Ash Wednesday. The Winter Olympics get underway on the 12th and it is also Black History Month.
I have already finished a couple of small projects and am currently working on something for my daughter-in-law. Speaking of my DIL, my grandson crawled for the first time last month! I miss that little guy a lot and hope to get to see him in just a couple of weeks. I do not know how my grandmothers handled being so far from their grandchildren -- I only live a little over 100 miles from Hayden and I miss him so much. With today's technology, however, I get pictures and status updates all the time, so I suppose it could be worse!

2009 was a year of ups and downs everywhere. Designers such as Teresa Wentzler announced retirement due to the rising costs in the industry; numerous shops, both online and brick-and-mortar, have closed their doors. I pray that 2010 will be a prosperous and good year for us all, and that the economy most certainly must improve!
Because the economy has hit a bump in the road, it is affecting all of us in some way. Prices are up on just about everything. It is at times like these that we tend to cut back on the extras, and cross stitch can certainly be considered an extra -- although it IS cheaper than a shrink! Please know that I am very appreciative of every order that I receive and I know that I am blessed to have such wonderful customers.
I am very happy to announce that International orders can now be filled via the Shopping Cart!!!! That means that if you live outside the United States, you do not have to contact me via email in order to place an order! I am hoping that this new flexibility will help our overseas friends have some great S.E.X. (Stash Enhancement eXperience)!

Many of my items were purchased from garage and yard sales, from stores, and from other suppliers. In addition, we have a number of friends and family that visit and are smokers. While I make every effort to ensure that my items do not come in contact with the smoke, I cannot guarantee they are smoke-free.
