ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!

March News: March means SPRING is on the way! What a crazy winter season this has been for the entire country. We had six inches of snow the week before Valentines -- unheard of here! It wouldn't have been so bad, but we lost electricity for 63 hours -- BRRR! Benji, our dog, had a blast, once he figured out this weird white stuff was just wet and cold! Mom and I stayed in a hotel the next town over and my husband had to work that weekend. He was kind enough to loan me his laptop so I could stay connected to the outside world.

I am ready for the weather to warm up and the sun to shine. I'm itching to get outside and pull up my dead plants and get some new ones going! I'm ready for some pretty Spring flowers to start blooming.

We just spent the last 16 days watching the Winter Olympics. I am always amazed at the athleticism of these athletes. Just watching some of the events wore me out! I truly enjoyed watching the Olympics and learning about those Northern neighbors of ours, the Canadians. Maybe someday we'll get to take a trip up that way...in the summer, of course!

In addition to Spring, March means Texas Independence Day and primary elections for state government, Daylight Savings time begins the 14th, St Patricks Day is the 17th, Spring begins on the 20th, Palm Sunday is the 28th, and Passover begins at sundown on the 29th. That means Easter is just around the corner. A lot of important dates coming up!

I finished the project for my daughter-in-law; it was a pretty quick stitch. I am now working on something for my son. I am also working on designing a birth announcement for the new daughter of a friend, born 2/10/2010. I will also be working on a project for our newest great-nephew, born on 2/20/2010. Cool birthdates!

My little grandson has been sick the last couple of weeks, with the croup and RSV -- a bronchial infection. He is taking breathing treatments and his parents tell me he is starting to do better. I will be going to help out the first week in March -- give them and his great-grandmother, who has been caring for him, a bit of a break. Just before he got sick, he started crawling and sitting up on his own! His first word was Momma! He is progressing so fast already!

2009 was a year of ups and downs everywhere. Designers such as Teresa Wentzler announced retirement due to the rising costs in the industry; numerous shops, both online and brick-and-mortar, have closed their doors. I pray that 2010 will be a prosperous and good year for us all, and that the economy most certainly must improve!

Because the economy has hit a bump in the road, it is affecting all of us in some way. Prices are up on just about everything. It is at times like these that we tend to cut back on the extras, and cross stitch can certainly be considered an extra -- although it IS cheaper than a shrink! Please know that I am very appreciative of every order that I receive and I know that I am blessed to have such wonderful customers.

I am very happy to announce that International orders can be filled via the Shopping Cart!!!! That means that if you live outside the United States, you do not have to contact me via email in order to place an order! I am hoping that this new flexibility will help our overseas friends have some great S.E.X. (Stash Enhancement eXperience)!

Many of my items were purchased from garage and yard sales, from stores, and from other suppliers. In addition, we have a number of friends and family that visit and are smokers. While I make every effort to ensure that my items do not come in contact with the smoke, I cannot guarantee they are smoke-free.
