ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!
November News: October is over, thank goodness. Overall, it was a good month until the last week. Our beloved canine furbaby, Sandy, died on the 28th after being sick for just a couple of days. She adopted us just over 8 years ago -- we feel certain her previous owners were abusive and then dumped her out here in the country. Apparently, she decided that we would love her and give her a good home and we did our best. My husband and I both miss her very much and still look for her when we go outside. She is on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge waiting for us, along with other pets we have lost over the years.
November means the holiday season is just around the corner. Thanksgiving is the kick off around here -- I usually drag out all the Christmas decorations and put up the tree that weekend. Not sure what our plans are for this year, but will certainly spend time with our families as we have much to be thankful for this year.
It is not too late to start on a Christmas project, or even several! I am in the process of finishing up the last two gifts. Once those are done, I plan to finish one of my WIPs before I get started on my 2009 projects.
The Online Needlework Show was at the end of September and it appears to have been a great success. I have finally received all of my orders and those new patterns are new listed in the New Additions category. I think you just might find something you just cannot pass up!
I know that the economy is seemingly going downhill and we are all affected in some way by what is happening on Wall Street. Prices are up on just about everything. It is at times like these that we tend to cut back on the extras, and cross stitch can certainly be considered an extra. Please know that I am very appreciative of every order that I receive and I know that I am blessed to have such wonderful customers.
While Christmas is just a few weeks away, we have already planned to cut back quite a bit. We love to give to our family and friends, so it is not easy to not be as generous as in years past. Framed family photos, a calendar featuring the photos my husband takes, and stitched pieces will be given as gifts this year. We are very lucky that our family and friends enjoy and appreciate our gifts from the heart -- I know that many people are not so lucky.
I consider my stitched pieces as art -- they are created using fabric and threads, rather than canvas and paint. When I stitch something, it tends to be for someone specific and I think of them while I am stitching the piece. I put a piece of myself in each piece. No matter how frustrating I may find a project (and I have had a few!), no matter how large or small, complicated or easy - it is always a great feeling when the project is complete.
If you are considering stitching some pieces to give as Christmas gifts, remember that you are giving a piece of yourself, too.
I am still working on the large Nativity I began around the end of September last year. I keep putting it aside to work on other, smaller projects, but I will get it finished next year (I hope!).
I am very happy to announce that International orders can now be filled via the Shopping Cart!!!! That means that if you live outside the United States, you do not have to contact me via email in order to place an order! I am hoping that this new flexibility will help our overseas friends have some great S.E.X. (Stash Enhancement eXperience)!
Remember to check out the Accessories category for supplies and accessories, fabric, and floss. I am not currently able to carry these products myself, but I have provided links to the websites so that you can order them directly. I have discovered some wonderful sources for hand-dyed fabric and floss, as well as silk floss and am happy to be able to share them with you. There are some other fun links on that page, so be sure to check them all out!
I am always adding new inventory and moving other inventory to my other sales venues. So, remember to check out the New Additions for some new ideas!
Where else can you find my product? On my other selling outlets - visit my links page at the top for a link to those sites.
Don’t see what you’re looking for? Please drop me an email and let me know what you’re looking for - it may be in stock, just not listed yet.

Why should you choose East Texas Treasures for your cross stitch needs?
As gas prices continue to skyrocket, shopping online means that you save on fuel costs, as well as time traveling to and from a craft store and dealing with crowds. You can shop any time of the day or night, while you’re eating or watching TV, dressed in your pjs, or when you have just a couple of minutes to spare. During the holiday shopping season, you’ll miss out on the crowded stores and malls and searching for a parking spot that isn’t miles from the entrance.
Shopping online means you are not getting out in the hot sun or in the torrential rain or a blizzard -- you’ll be cool and dry (or warm and dry, depending on the season), while shopping from a comfy chair.
The only cost is a bit of your time, the price of your merchandise, and low shipping. You will come out ahead in the long run, if you factor in travel time and the cost of gas. Plus, your item will be delivered to your door!
Please take a few moments to read the policies and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
This website is still a "work-in-progress". Please be patient as I continue to add inventory as frequently as time allows. I also have a couple of other storefronts on other sites (please see links) and I’ve got some cross stitch and other crafting items listed there.
Add East Texas Treasures to your "favorites" list or bookmark this site and check back often -- you never know what you will find next time you look!

Important Information:
Many of my items are purchased from garage and yard sales, from stores, and from other suppliers. In addition, we have a number of friends and family that visit and are smokers. While I make every effort to ensure that my items do not come in contact with the smoke, I cannot guarantee they are smoke-free.
